Affiliations

The California Association of Building Energy Consultants (CABEC), a non-profit organization, was founded in 1986 to foster professional development and ethics in the field of energy compliance through sponsorship of educational programs for industry professionals on building energy efficiency. These activities have been developed to assure a professional level of training, experience and qualification for those individuals preparing Title 24 compliance and energy analysis documentation.

In April 1995, the National Association of State Energy Officials and Energy Rated Homes of America founded the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages. ENERGY STAR is a dynamic government/industry partnership that offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions, making it easy to save money while protecting the environment for future generations. In 1992 the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) introduced ENERGY STAR as a voluntary labeling program designed to identify and promote energy-efficient products to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
